Clarence Avant better known as the Godfather of Black Music has died, Mr. Avant got that name while he was a Music Manager in the 1960's, he became the go to guy for black recording artists like Snoop Dogg, Babyface, Whitney Houston, LA Reid, Pharrell Williams and a host of others who was trying to secure a good recording contract.

Mr. Clarence Avant was also considered a Music industry Kingmaker because he helped formulate a number of major record labels including Motown Records, the iconic deal maker died at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his family and friends, he was 92 years old.
