Cynic - Work - Contrast EP (2013) Bio: Cynic has been rapping since he could speak. His latest & greatest studio project is the "Contrast" EP, in anticipation of his 15th year of life. Since he was a wee thing, he’s always had something to say, and he favors the Hip Hop format because of the lyrical punch that can be packed into one bar of music. He’s his own producer, listing his favorite sample pools as: 1970‘s Ethiopian jazz records, psychedelia, and 1960’s girl groups (especially Diana Ross & the Supremes.) He usually adds trap to the mix, some bass, and next thing you know the car is bumping. By the time the record is complete, it sounds something like Slug of Atmosphere, but with much more vivid soundscapes.
